ACUTE ADULT: VA-eligible male and female Vets on 27-bed locked unit for mental health and detox; 781-687-4333.

MENTAL HEALTH: Evidenced based individual and group therapy and pharmacology; call 781-687-2347.

SUICIDE PREVENTION SERVICES: Connects Vets in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring VA responders through confidential toll-free hot line, online chat or text. Vets and their loved ones can call 800-273-8255, press 1; chat online at www.veteranscrisisline.net, or text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24/7, 365 days a year. Vets will be referred to clinical staff at nearest VA for additional support.

GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRY UNIT: Interdisciplinary service that conducts in-depth psychosocial evaluation and provides full spectrum of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies to address psychiatric and behavioral symptoms. Unit appropriate to treat geriatric Vets with delirium, psychosis, psychotic depression, dementia, and other behavioral disturbances that require treatment for Vet to remain in the community. SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT: Two week Intensive Day Treatment Program for Vets with substance use disorders, mental health disorders or both; on-going outpatient specialty aftercare; 781-687-2580.

PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATIVE TREATMENT PROGRAM (DOMICILIARY): For male and female Vets struggling with mental health, 3 month stay with vocational rehab, 56 beds. Work rehab required; 781-687-2795.

MENTAL HEALTH EVALUATION CENTER: Provides Vets new to Bedford VA a comprehensive assessment and efficient entry to individualized mental health services and programs through recommendations and referrals to our most appropriate programs and therapies. To schedule evaluation, call 781-687-2347.

SERVICES FOR RETURNING VETS: Assistance with reintegration and adjustment support for combat Vets, including navigating VA healthcare and benefits, accessing treatment for medical and mental health needs including PTSD, TBI, and other areas of psychosocial post deployment needs; 781-687-3067.

VETS INTEGRATION TO ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP: Mission is to provide world-class healthcare and improve the overall mental health of Vets, while supporting their successful integration into college and university campuses, through seamless access to VA healthcare services and on-campus clinical counseling. HEALTH CARE FOR HOMELESS VETS: Walk-in Clinic, comprehensive services from emergency through transitional housing, case management and VA and community referrals; 781-687-2374.

TRANSITIONAL RESIDENCE IN LOWELL, MA: For homeless male and female Vets struggling with mental health needs, and who work full time or in full time work therapy program, maximum 12 month stay, 42 beds; 781-687-4922.

COMMUNITY RESIDENTIAL CARE: Supervised community residences for Vets with long-term mental health issues, no limit on stay, 120 beds in community homes; 781-687-2703.

PRIMARY CARE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Treats Vets living with emotional, adjustment, behavioral difficulties, or clinical problems. PCBH services are on-site and available directly within primary care setting to help Vets coping with any number of emotional or behavioral difficulties. Includes but not limited to screening evaluations, assessment and diagnosis, psychopharmacological consultation/treatment, brief psychotherapy, psychoeducation for Vets and families, and coordinating referrals to specialty mental health and other services as appropriate. INSURANCE: Indigent Vets get free care; Vets with insurance have that insurance billed, call 781-687-2275 for specifics. Active duty military only by referral from Military PCP through Tricare.

COMMENTS: All services are available to honorably discharged military Vets, and active duty military members by Tri-Care Consult. Suicide prevention services also available with Other-than Honorable discharges. Large psych ambulatory mental health care service with therapy, cognitive behavioral, anger management, and PTSD groups; individual psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. Extensive substance abuse aftercare component. Intensive psychiatric community care also available to selected patients.
