ADMISSIONS: Stacie Murphy, LCSW, 207-895-5290.
AGES/GRADES: Males and females ages 4-17 in a 7 day per week, 12 month per year program. Academic needs addressed via collaborative approach with the local school department.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Treatment services are provided to the child and family to address identified needs and develop a healthy home environment to support success as a family. Emphasis on skills training, structuring opportunities and teaching skills. Referrals for psychiatric or psychological services coordinated and referred to appropriate outside provider.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Six bed family-focused short-term residential program. The home-like atmosphere is structured and therapeutic with an emphasis on building skills to allow for the family’s success and reduce/eliminate the risk of future out-of-home placements. Parents or identified care taker are required to partake in the daily routine and parenting sessions in addition to the family therapy sessions.
POPULATION SERVED: Do not automatically exclude any disability, impairment or diagnosis, but commonly work with moderate to severe emotional and behavioral problems; often co-morbid with mental health diagnoses including Reactive Attachment Disorder, ADHD, PDD, mild autism spectrum disorders, mild cognitive impairment and learning disabilities. Children need to be from Aroostook County in order for their families to partake as identified.
LICENSURE: Licensed by the State of Maine Dept. of Health and Human Services, Children’s Residential Facility-PNMI.
COMMENTS Medicaid reimbursed. Targeted case management is encouraged in assisting the family with needs during placement and after discharge. All admissions require State of Maine Children’s Behavioral Health Intensive Temporary Residential Team approval prior to admission.
