AGES/GRADES: Males and females ages 7-18, in graded 7 day per week, 12 month per year program; summer program available.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: 10-bed program designed to treat youth demonstrating problematic sexual behaviors. Treatment is provided through group, individual and family therapy and is tailored to the specific needs of the child based on psychosexual assessment, risk assessment and ongoing evaluation of progress. Aggression Replacement Training, a 10-week evidence-based group treatment program is also provided for youth demonstrating difficulties with aggressive behaviors. Behavioral treatment programs are additionally supported by the use of Applied Behavioral Analysis model, Parenting Enhancement training, psychiatric treatment and medication management as well as ongoing evaluations of the efficacy of the program using fidelity measures.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used in treatment of problem sexual behaviors. Trauma focused CBT used to assist youth working through issues related to past trauma.
POPULATION SERVED: Do not automatically exclude any disability, impairment or diagnosis, but commonly work with moderate to severe emotional and behavioral problems; often co-morbid with mental health diagnoses including ADHD, PDD, mild autism spectrum disorders, mild cognitive impairment and learning disabilities.
LICENSURE: Licensed by the Maine Dept. of Health and Human Services, Children’s Residential Facility-PNMI.
COMMENTS: Medicaid reimbursed and will work with private insurance to negotiate coverage if available.
