SENIOR ADULT BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE: 55 and older on a DMH licensed 17-bed secure unit. Comprehensive assessment with access to specialists including neuropsychological testing and neurology with special focus on dementia workups and behavioral management that incorporates pharmacological as well as holistic approaches. COMPREHENSIVE OUTPATIENT ADDICTION PROGRAM (ValleyCAP):  Program supports patients following detoxification from drugs and alcohol. Highly qualified medical professionals, chemical dependency counselors, social workers and mental heal counselors offer outpatient care while patients achieve independence from addiction. Holistic approach includes medical, emotional and spiritual components as well as respect, dignity and encouragement. Admissions or information: 978-521-8464 or 978-420-1156.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT DAY & EVENING:  For patients who need ongoing care following discharge from inpatient program or need a more structured service in outpatient setting, and are experiencing mild to moderate withdrawal. Day program: Mon.-Fri. 9am-12:30pm, 2 week duration. Evening program: Mon., Wed., Thurs., 5:30-9pm, 4 week duration. Admissions or information: 978-521-8464 or 978-420-1156.

OUTPATIENT MEDICATION ASSISTED THERAPY:  Use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide the whole-patient approach to the treatment of substance use disorders as this combination is more successful. Admissions or information: 978-420-1156.

STRUCTURED OUTPATIENT ADDICTION PROGRAM:  Provide multidisciplinary treatment to address co-occurring addiction and psychiatric disorders. Unless contraindicated, the family, guardian, and/or natural supporters are actively involved. Weekly group and individual substance abuse counseling sessions and required drug testing. Also offer individual, family, and group counseling for mental health issues. Admissions or information: 978-420-1156.

COMMENTS: Behavioral medicine offered in acute care hospital setting, allowing for collaboration with multiple medical specialists including psychiatry, neurology, neuropsychology, internal medicine, pain management, endocrinology, radiology, pharmacology, laboratory and nursing for the assessment of medical conditions that may contribute to the patients’ emotional status.
